I had just 5 weeks until my Ironman race, when I strained my Achilles to the point that I could not run at all without severe pain. A good friend recommended Athletico and Astym treatment. I completed 4 weeks of physical therapy with Astym treatments 2-3 times a week. I completed my Ironman with zero pain in my Achilles and would highly recommend the Astym treatment.

I had Astym therapy done on both legs for Achilles tendonitis. I can deal with a lot of pain but enduring this treatment was a struggle for me. I had to grit my teeth to keep from crying out. I’m glad I didn’t stop the therapist. By the next day, I noticed a major improvement! That really amazed me! I had minimal bruising.

I had pulled my tendon in my Achilles learning a try out dance at a dance convention. I went to an emergency room and got a boot, and then a week later I danced in a competition and made it worse. When I went back home I went to Carolina Orthopaedic. That’s when I got more X-rays and got physical therapy. I went from having a pulled tendon that hurt really bad to a ankle that feels way better and way stronger thanks to Astym treatment

I am on my second round of Astym therapy. Back in July 2015 I had my first round. I had a bad Achilles tendon. My calf and foot were very tight and painful. I was unable to walk without limping. Trying to avoid surgery we did Astym therapy. It made my pain tolerable so I could continue working until November.
It is now January and I am on my second session of Astym therapy. My recovery has been wonderful thanks to Andrea and Astym therapy. A few more weeks and back to work.
I would recommend Astym therapy to anyone. What do you have to loose? PAIN

I just wanted to tell others about the Astym treatment and how it helped me during my recovery and rehab for my Achilles tendon. The treatment helped ease the pain and swelling of the scar tissue at the back of my heel and calf muscle. It was not a comfortable process the first time but the benefits were almost immediate and the following treatments were progressively easier. The benefits are reduced pain and swelling as well as helping out with the flexibility. Definitely worth the time and helped me out a lot.

Achilles tendinitis – pain in the morning and pain in the evening… really cant remember a time over the past 2 years that I didn’t walk with pain. I’m a 42 year old male who started playing softball again at the ripe old age of 37. I developed Achilles tendinitis a couple of years ago and everything i tried did not work. There were days when i dreaded getting out of bed as i knew the pain was going to be bad. My wife is currently finishing up her PTA degree and her last clinical assignment is with an amazing PT named Kate Robbins. My wife was telling Kate my story and Kate thought this would be a good treatment for me. Fast forward to today… I’m 95% pain free after 3 weeks of Astym therapy and regular stretching and I’m so incredibly grateful!

As an active 47 year old, I was upset about a year ago when my ankles and Achilles tendons began to bother me. It got to the point that there were days I could barely walk. My softball and volleyball league participation was out of the question. I was even having trouble doing everyday farm work. After consulting with a podiatrist, finding out I had “deformed” heel bones, bone spurs, and severe Achilles tendonitis, he started me on physical therapy to try to avoid surgery. Astym therapy was started immediately. Though I have a few weeks left of treatment, I have gotten to the point where I only have slight pain in one heel. It’s getting better daily! The results have been amazing! I truly think this treatment will help me avoid surgery.
