I was a physical therapy student completing my last internship when I developed Dequervain’s synovitis in my right thumb. I would get catches and intense sharp pain in my forearm when I moved my hand a certain way. This was very debilitating considering we as physical therapists use our hands every day. After a few sessions of Astym therapy, my symptoms were gone!
