I had a massive rotator cuff tear and underwent Superior Capsular Reconstruction. After the surgery I was experiencing severe pain caused by scar tissue build up and this was impeding my recovery. My therapist recommended using the Astym treatment. The treatment was initially very painful and caused bruising in the treatment area. However, after a few sessions my pain had been greatly diminished. I stuck with the Astym treatment and now my pain is nearly gone.
