3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Physical Therapy

3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Physical Therapy

You’re on the road to recovery and sometimes it takes longer than you would like. So what can you do to get the most out of your treatment and get better, faster?⠀

You're an active participant in your recovery. Be prepared before you go.

Be prepared.

You’re an active participant in your recovery!  Remember, your Physical Therapist can only do so much. It’s up to you to put in the work. Make sure you are coming to each session ready to get started! Be able to describe the sensations you are feeling so your therapist can best determine your next step.⠀

Do your homework.

Physical Therapy is more than just a few sessions in an office. After, your PT will send you home with exercises and activities to help aid continued healing and strengthening. Complete your assigned activities to the best of your ability, but respect your body’s limits and talk to your PT if the activity is causing you pain.⠀

Be Patient.

Therapy takes time. Healing takes time. As long as you communicate with your PT and follow their instructions for how to best exercise and strengthen your body, you can get the best results possible from your physical therapist.⠀

Astym® therapy is here to help you get back to what you love.
