18 Jul Astym Therapy Works for Me!
I have had four foot surgeries in the past 5 years. I had 2 Achilles tendon surgeries and 2 bunionectomies. I had never heard of Astym therapy until then. After the surgeries I couldn’t move my feet at all. I never thought I would be able to go up or downstairs again. I had regular physical therapy but it just wasn’t working so that’s when they decided to do Astym therapy. I couldn’t believe the difference it made and how fast it was.
I didn’t understand why she had me put on shorts since it was my foot that was being treated. When she started running the instrument down my leg I could honestly hear the scar tissue breaking up. It was unbelievable!!! I didn’t realize that i could build up scar tissue all the way up my leg when it was my foot that had the actual scar. Anyway, after 4 To 6 weeks of Astym treatments I was walking and even going up and down stairs like I did before I had the surgery. The same thing went for my big toes after the bunionectomies. I couldn’t move my big toe at all. It wouldn’t bend up or down until I had the Astym treatments. Now, I have movement and you can’t even see the scar. I tell everyone that asks me about my surgeries that I wouldn’t be like I am now had it not been for the Astym treatments. My husband who doesn’t believe in physical therapy is now a believer. He saw how bad my feet were after the surgeries and how they are now. I go to the gym and walk my neighborhood like I never had surgery at all. And, I owe it all to my surgeon, physical therapist and Astym! Thank you for giving me my life back.
